Overview

Exotica is a Paxemese corporation specializing in hydroponic and artificial farming, particularly of exotic plants not native to the Doggerlands.

Founding

Exotica was founded in October 3022, in Paxem, by French-born Lilin Dreyfus. Exotica was her third corporate endeavor, and the only one which has seen particular success. It was created with the express goal of farming exotic plants, with the first of these being mangoes, in a small hydroponics facility in Canareis, Cyrene. Exotica expanded in the Spring of 3023, moving to the production of papayas, dragonfruit, lychee, jackfruits, passionfruits, and papayas.

Operations

Exotica specializes in the growing of exotic fruits in tower-farms, multi-storied farm buildings which are able to replicate the conditions of their native environment. Additionally, Exotica often genetically modifies some plant species to make them more resistant to the Doggerland's climate when possible, allowing a select few tropical fruit species to be grown outside tower farms.

Locations

Exotica's corporate headquarters is located in a skyscraper in Alexandria, Cyrene. The penthouse of this skyscraper serves as the residence of Cyrene's mayor Martin Golez. Exotica's single tower farm is located in Canareis district, Cyrene, due to the region's low property price. The tower is almost entirely automated, with an estimated 5-10 human staffers present in the nearly 250-meter tall building. Exotica also operates a more traditional farm in Aquinas, where tropical fruit specifics genetically engineered to survive in the Doggerland's climate grow. Exotica has plans to build a second tower farm in Zaandam.
