Marton is a large town in the centre of Doggerland. It was one of the first locations built in the region upon its discovery, along with Jackacity and Jabinc. The town was built as a railway town, located on the Great Western Main Line to serve as the heart of the regional railway network, functioning in a similar role to Crewe, UK.
Great Central Group is the primary employer of the town through its subsidiary Great Central Railway, and has a degree of influence over the decisions made by the council. This is along with the government of neighbouring Jackacity which assists with maintaining the security of the city.
The town's democratic reach has recently expanded with the formation of Torby, with the towns sharing a common democratic framework and government.
