Augustus Hans "Aaron" Ashford (born 1 April 2979) is a Wiltshirian economist, politician, and novelist who served in a number of key ministerial positions under Prime Ministers Audrick Hill and Sonya Inyo. Ashford, an economist, was first appointed First Minister of State and Chancellor of the Exchequer in the Third Hill Ministry. In this role, he was elected Deputy Leader of the Liberal Conservative Party. Following the resignation of Audrick Hill, Ashford served as Acting Leader of the party, eventually losing the leadership to Sonya Inyo. Ashford remained Deputy Leader, and served as Minister for Trade in the Sonya Inyo Ministry. Ashford is considered one of the leaders of the liberal faction of the Liberal Conservative Party. Following the October 3020 general election, Ashford was fired from the cabinet.

Prior to his election to the Wiltshire National Assembly, and becoming a cabinet minister, Ashford was a well regarded economist and academic. Ashford's economic papers helped guide the economic recovery following the September 3019 Depression, and is still the basis for economic policy in Wiltshire today. In addition to his credentials as an economist, Ashford is a literary novelist and published author. He wrote "The Knight of Scandinavia" and, more notably, "Tomorrow's War", which was later adapted into the movie of the same title.

Personally, Ashford is married to Kirsty Ashford with four children. Ashford is a religious man. However, he is a self-proclaimed "quiet christian". He has stated on numerous occasions that his personal faith does not interfere with his government actions or positions.
