Overview
The Clement Corporation is a large multinational and diversified corporation headquartered in Ekklesiovsk in the Pontifical States, and while it is a publicly traded C-Corp, the majority of its shares were acquired in 3020 by the Holy See making it effectively an arm of the Pontifical State government. Known primarily for its passenger transport services, the corporation currently operates a cruise line, airline, bus service, water taxi service, resorts, travel agency, credit union, carwash, gas stations, media service, and a theme park on Clement Isle in the Northern Basin.
Clement is the largest corporation in the Pontifical States, and is responsible for an average of ten percent of the country's GDP. It is the only corporation to have a semi-autonomous territory within the country. The corporation also operates in nearly every country on the Doggerlands as well as services to mainland Europe, Lancastrian Canada, and planned services to the Polaris One international space station.
The company is named after Pope Saint Clement, the fourth Pope of the Catholic Church and the patron saint of mariners, as well as the company's mascot, owing to the its origins as a maritime passenger travel service.
Due to the majority ownership of the corporation by the Holy See, all Clement vehicles and vessels may be requisitioned by the government of the Pontifical States to serve as troop transports or hospital ships when called upon along with their operators.
