The Royal Commission considered a list of seven candidates, ranging from former Prime Ministers Grace Daines and David Loynd to political activists on the right and the left. The Commission's prerogative was confined by the monarchs' desire to see a unity in the national politics - a unity that was rare in Wiltshirian politics before the civil war. As such, the Commission nominated Lassiter. While his politics put him on the centre-right, his experience in working across the isle made him a choice that many could get behind. </del>

According to the legality of the Treaty of Forêtnoire, Lassiter succeeds Sir Ramsay Bowell as Prime Minister of Wiltshire, making him officially the 23rd Prime Minister. </del>

Shortly after, Lassiter hosted a meeting of Wiltshirian conservatives in the hope of finding common political ground. He was successful and formally reforged the Wiltshire Conservative Party - a technical successor of the party created by Jaresh Inyo in 3010. Lassiter led the Conservatives to victory in the 3024 legislative elections on a platform of reconstruction. Lassiter's motto for the campaign became "''Peace & Hope Through Reconstruction''". He then proceeded to appoint a political cabinet of Conservatives, thanks to his Conservative majority in the Wiltshire National Assembly.</del>

New page

'''J. Owen Lassiter''' (born 8 October 2970) is a Wiltshirian politician and social scientist who is currently serving as Prime Minister, having been appointed by King George and Queen Victoria. Lassiter came to prominence when he served as Terrace Street Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Martin Banks in 3014. He served one term in the National Assembly in 3015, before retiring to the private sector. He worked as a research fellow at the University of Aberdeen and later as tenured professor of Political Sociology at the University of Marino. Following the formation of the Kingdom of Wiltshire in 3024, the newly invested monarchs of Wiltshire named Lassiter as Prime Minister at the head of a caretaker government.

Lassiter is a self-described liberal conservative, having openly supported the administrations of Sonya Inyo and Mitchell Crawley.

== Prime Minister (3024-present) ==
The establishment of the Kingdom of Wiltshire put a significant amount of pressure on the new monarchy to appoint a democratic government.

King George and Queen Victoria approved the Commission's nomination and appointed Lassiter as Prime Minister. According to the legality of the Treaty of Forêtnoire, Lassiter succeeds Sir Ramsay Bowell as Prime Minister of Wiltshire, making him officially the 23rd Prime Minister.

Immediately after his appointment, Lassiter announced that he would be advising the Royal Commission to consider dates for legislative elections. He then proceeded to appoint a political cabinet of Conservatives, thanks to his Conservative majority in the Wiltshire National Assembly.
