The 3024 Balancín general election on the Merchant Council was held on 12 April 3024 to elect the Member of Parliament (MP) to represent the merchant class. The Citizen, Merchant, and Third Sector Class Representation Act of 3024 designated the Merchant Council as the body responsible for electing the class MP. The Merchant Council predates the existence of the Balancín Kingdoms and is made up of trade unionists, merchants, and trade envoys that operate primarily in the Eastern Sea of the Doggerlands. The decision to use the Merchant Council was controversial as it is made up of both Balancín and non-Balancín individuals, representing much of the Eastern Sea's trade network.
The election saw five candidates stand for the position of MP (2 of whom were Rook candidates, and 2 of whom were Pawns). The Merchant Council decided to abstain from the political divide in the Balancín Parliament and thus decided to elect the fifth candidate, who was an independent. That candidate was Cosmo Al Lore, a Balancín trade unionist.
Al Lore was elected with 60% of the vote on the council, sending him to parliament with a majority of 42.5%. Al Lore became a key figure in the Foul Parliament of 3024.
